Daytona & Food coming

Last day of work before VACATION!!!!

Sunday the 18th
Daytona 500!!! PARTY!!!

I don't know what Daytona means to you but for me it means baking, drinking, and watching the race...and like my dad I usually fall asleep at some point of the race. I think that is the alcohol that does it.

So what am I baking you might ask. Here is the list:
1 - 10 inch chocolate pudding pie with home made whipped cream
1 - lg. chocolate cheese cake
1 - small white russian cheese cake
1 - HUGE amout of hotwings with my sister's recipe for blue cheese dressing

I'm going to cheat a little on the chocolate pudding pie. Of course the pudding gets made from scratch but no graham cracker crust. I already bought the pie crusts not the frozen ones but the nice unrolled from the box type so I can put it in my own pie plate.

NO skimping on the cheese cakes though. I gotta go pick up some Dark Chocolate.

I learned the secrete to crispy hot wings. This is what you do. Bake the wings then deep fry them then toss with Frank's Red Hot. You can bake them a full day before serving just as long as you fry them at the last moment. Because we are traveling I will not be frying them.

Wednesday
My little brother comes to visit. Hip hip horray.
I bet you can guess what I am doing all day Friday, Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday....
House cleaning oh god!!!

Update

I just let a bunch of family know about this blog. So I guess I should up date it.

Nick - My littlest brother...in age not in height!!! Is coming to visit me. I can't wait. I think one day we will go with a friend of mine and her son out to Dadd's. Dadd's is an indoor entertainment place, they have go-karts, mini golf, laser tag, batting cages and more. I have been saving all my checks from my very part-time job so I can feed him...oh yeah he is 15. My grocery bill for one day will equal what hubby and I eat in a week I think.

Hubby and I are doing great as usual. Looks like he is going to make a swift for me to bring to the girls at Sn'B see if they would like to buy them.

Work - Ummm...I can't wait for vacation!!! I have been the acting supervisor since Nov 9th (my birthday) Well, when I go on vacation a new guy will take over. Hip hip horay!! It isn't that I wouldn't love to have the position but I think I would be better suited somewhere else or with a whole new staff.

I am still working with all that yarn Pa (my grandfather on my father's side ah to heck with it my dad's dad) gave me. I have donated about 4 or 5 very small baby blankets to the preemie ward at the hospital and one pair of booties. Other ladies from my Sn'B group have helped out with hats and booties too.

Mom- I am kinda still working on your afghan. I am just not impressed with it and might change the pattern. You'll have it in the summer or next X-mas. (knowing me)

I was working on a pair of socks for my girlfriend Eileen...I had her try one on...oops way too small. I have to start over on those.

I hope I don't miss any thing. Maybe if I write more I will fill in some blanks. Go ahead and ask me questions in the comment section. I'll get them addressed in the next post.

so what is going on

Let's see.

Home:
I went to my parents for Christmas. My mom got me tons of stuff for knitting. Needles, stitch holders, those little things that go on the end of your needles so you don't poke any one's eye out, and some pattern books, and much much more. I think she had a little bit of a hard time cause I told her no cloths. She loves to buy me cloths and she does a really excellent job doing it too. Just I am still in the process of losing weight and buying me cloths would be a little stupid right now. So I put in the request and she obied by it. But I still think it was realloy hard for her cause she did get me a $50 gift card for Fashion Bug. I think I'll spend it on little undies. Just kidding, mom will get the joke.

When I was there at Christmas learned how to knit my grandfather saw me and asked if I wanted the rest of my grandmother yarn. I said yes. I don't know how great of an idea it was it filled up the whole 8' bed of my truck. Oh my my all the yarn. I am having so much fun with it though. I have given away the stuff that I know I would have no use for. Jenn at Sn'B loved what she got. She said some of it was from the 70's and she has been having trouble trying to match what she already had. Maybe she will post a comment as to what it was again that I gave her.

Hubby and I are don't great as normal. Couldn't ask for a better man. We have been trying to get through "The Shield" we are going to start season 4 tonight. We watched 5 episodes last night.

I had to go to the doctors yesterday. I brought me there, sat with me in the waiting room and stayed with me the whole time. How sweet.

Work:
Well I was promoted to acting supervisor NOV 9th. It was supposed to be for 30 days. Ummm...I am going to interview for the position I've been doing on the 16th. If my math serves me correctly that is a little more than 30 days. If I don't get it I just don't know what I would do.
